There are hundreds of women ruling the world with their work be it in any field naming a few like: Politics, Entertainment, Media, Finance or Business. And India is not behind any more. Women have always been matching up shoulders with Men in almost every field now, and today we are talking about “Business”.
A big venture or a Business adds on to the country’s growth and females are not left behind in building a country’s future. It’s not always about a “Businessman” we have now a list of “Business Women” who are an inspiration to our country and have made us feel proud and empowered all these years. Kaveri Kalanithi is the Managing Director of the Sun TV network. She has also served as a chairman at Spice Jet Ltd since 2010 and as its non-executive director from November 15, 2010 to January 30, 2015.

She is the CMD of India’s largest Biopharma Company Biocon Ltd. She has been listed down under the top 100 most powerful women title. She was also awarded with a Gold Medal for her immense contribution to science and chemistry.
After the loss of her husband, Urvi Piramal joined the business world. A split in the family business what she and her sons inherited was a dying textile mill and two engineering companies. The assets, in fact, were with negative net worth. However, in seven years flat, she managed to turn the business around. She now manages a group of four companies in the fields of retail, real estate, textiles and engineering.
Chanda kochhar is the MD and CEO of the leading Bank ICICI. She has consistently been featured in the Forbes most powerful women magazine and also been ranked on the 40th position amongst the top 100 powerful women in the world. Chanda Kochhar is widely recognized for her role in shaping the retail banking sector in India and as a leader of ICICI group as well as her contributions to various forums in India and globally.
Shobhana Bhartia is the Chairperson and Editorial Director of the leading media business Hindustan Times Group. She inherited this business from her father, KK Birla. The media venture wasn’t a profit making business. Today, Hindustan Times is much successful and most profitable media businesses in the country.
Preetha Reddy is the MD of the largest healthcare conglomerates of the country, Apollo Hospital Enterprises. She is widely recognized for her contribution in making high quality healthcare accessible to millions across the country and also for her contributions to various entities and industry bodies, working for the betterment of India.
Vinita Singhania is the MD of JK Lakshmi Cement and she was also the first woman president of the Cement Manufacturers Association from 2009 to 2012. After the sudden demise of her husband Sripati Singhania, she took a lead towards the business. Within five years of taking over, she raised the turnover of the organisation from Rs. 100 crore to 450 crore.
